Coleman Law Investigating Rivian for False Advertising

Misled by Rivian’s Advertising?

We are investigating claims that Rivian may have misrepresented key features of its vehicles. If your expectations didn’t match reality, you’re not alone—and you may have legal options.

Notable Recoveries

Hyundai Shattering Sunroof Class Action Lawsuit

Glenn, et al. v. Hyundai Motor Company America, et al.

Hyundai settled a class action lawsuit alleging that panoramic sunroofs in certain Veloster, Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe, Santa Fe Sport, and Elantra GT vehicles were prone to spontaneous shattering, with the settlement providing affected owners reimbursement options, a doubled sunroof warranty, and free repairs going forward.

Audi Q7 Brake Squeal Lawsuit

Mercado v. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. d/b/a Audi of America, Inc

Audi settled a class action lawsuit alleging that certain 2017-2018 Audi Q7 SUVs were equipped with defective front brakes that produced persistent squeaking and squealing; the automaker denied any defect while agreeing to resolve the suit — which was amended and refiled five times — through a warranty extension and reimbursement program covering approximately 100,000 former and current owners and lessees.

Rivian may have falsely promised that all Gen 1 models of its R1S (SUV) and R1T (electric truck) vehicles would be equipped with Level 3 autonomous driving (i.e. “hands-off, eye-off self-driving capability) as part of its Drive+ feature.

If you purchased or leased certain Rivian model vehicles, you may be entitled to compensation.

The Problem

Rivian may have falsely promised that all Gen 1 models of its R1S (SUV) and R1T (electric truck) vehicles would be equipped with Level 3 autonomous driving (i.e. “hands-off, eye-off self-driving capability) as part of its Drive+ feature.

We believe these vehicles were manufactured without the necessary hardware to allow for Level 3 autonomy.

Are You Affected?

Regardless of any software updates offered, we believe the Gen 1 vehicles listed will never have Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities, despite Rivian’s advertising.

You may qualify if you purchased or leased a Gen 1 Rivian R1S or R1T and were led to believe — through Rivian’s marketing, sales representatives, or other communications — that Level 3 autonomous driving would be available on your vehicle.
